It began with a simple belief - that India's history isn't something meant to stay locked inside a closed textbook. It is one long, flowing story. A story that begins in some old, dust-covered city, and flows on through rivers, marketplaces, journeys, wars, love, faith, fear and dreams, all the way to today.

It was this belief that led Equal Tales to try telling India's history in a different way. Away from the weariness of dates and names, more like a tale that settles into the heart and teaches people to fall in love with their own past. The effort was to make sure history wasn't just narrated, but felt - so that viewers could sense that behind every brick, every road, every dialect and every memory of the country around them, some old voice still lingers.

Chapter by chapter, the Equal Tales team began shaping India's story in a cinematic language - like pulling faded photographs out of an old trunk to see them in new light. It started as a small experiment with a handful of videos. But the love, trust and curiosity of viewers turned this journey into a responsibility - one we will do our best to honour.

एक ख़याल से शुरुआत हुई थी कि भारत का इतिहास किसी बंद पाठ्यपुस्तक में क़ैद रहने वाली चीज़ नहीं है। वह एक लंबी, बहती हुई कहानी है। ऐसी कहानी, जिसकी शुरुआत धूल में दबे किसी पुराने शहर से होती है, जो नदियों, बाज़ारों, यात्राओं, युद्धों, प्रेम, विश्वास, डर और सपनों से गुज़रती हुई आज तक चली आती है।

इसी विश्वास से Equal Tales ने भारत के इतिहास को एक अलग ढंग से कहने की कोशिश शुरू की। तारीख़ों और नामों की थकान से दूर, एक ऐसी दास्तान की तरह, जो दिल में उतरे और लोगों को अपने अतीत से मोहब्बत करना सिखाये। कोशिश यह रही कि इतिहास सिर्फ़ बताया न जाए, उसे महसूस कराया जाए। दर्शक यह जान सकें कि उनके चारों तरफ़ जो देश है, उसकी हर ईंट, हर रास्ता, हर बोली और हर याद के पीछे कोई पुरानी आवाज़ छुपी हुई है।

भारत की कहानी के एक-एक अध्याय को Equal Tales की टीम ने सिनेमाई अंदाज़ में रचना शुरू किया - जैसे कोई पुराने संदूक़ से धुंधली तस्वीरें निकाल कर उन्हें नयी रोशनी में देखता है। शुरुआत कुछ वीडियो के छोटे-से प्रयोग से हुई थी। लेकिन दर्शकों के प्यार, भरोसे और जिज्ञासा ने इस सफ़र को एक ज़िम्मेदारी में बदल दिया। हम इसे निभाने की पूरी कोशिश करेंगे।
